I don't normally 'do'
movie reviews...
I leave that to the 'experts'..
but
I was so 'affected' by the movie
"Precious"
that I'm still not sure how I'm feeling about it.
Dear Lord, talk about depressing...
even the 'upbeat' ending
left me somewhat 'empty'..
I did get a little 'lost' from time to time..
I guess when Precious went into her 'fantasy world' to escape
the horrific abuse that was her life..
I think what affected me most..
was the knowledge that
this shit really does happen.

I haven't seen the movie but pretty much every review I've read is positive. Might have to check it out!
I've been wanting to see this and kind of avoiding it too... I am also disturbed that this is a true story.

It was a good movie...as far as the acting..etc. goes...kudos to both Mariah and Lenny K - as well as the lead role actresses.....it's just the storyline that was so very 'heavy'.
I had to watch a couple of Parenthood's after..so that I wouldn't fall into a depression of sorts.
