Art Print for Charity

I had been thinking for 'some time'
that I wanted to start doing some art prints
especially for charity.

Every year I do a painting and
send it to Chicago
to be auctioned off to help folks in the
Midwest..who are having
problems with housing, food and utilities.

(I was going to post a link to the event...
and
unfortunately there is a problem with the site I went to
and I ended up with a virus on my computer.
Took me ALL afternoon to get my computer
virus free...
not cool.)
So...I'm not including a link to that site.

Proceeds from the sale of my print
'Resting'
on Imagekind
goes to an Art for Cancer
charity
to help cancer patients purchase items not
covered by insurance and other resources.
(I know from personal experience what many of these
out of pocket expenses are.)

I decided I would create an original digital illustration
every month...
especially for charitable giving..
with a portion of the sales from each of the
'charity' prints
going to a pre-specified charity.

The print shown above is titled...
it is the January print..
and for as long as the print is offered..
each time one of these prints sell..
half of the proceeds will be donated
to the
Red Cross.

Art for Cancer

I know that most everyone who
follows me...both in CMZ art and Rustic Goth...
are familiar with this particular piece.

Well...it's one of the few pieces I have also
listed over in my Imagekind Shop.

Imagekind is much like Art.com.
The artists upload an image that is large enough to
accommodate prints of various sizes and on various mediums...
for instance...
it is possible to get this print on 8 x 10 Fine Art Paper...
get it matted and framed in a 16 x 18.5" frame...
get it on 8x10 canvas...or 8x10 canvas framed...
it's even available as a Greeting Card.

At this point...this is the only print that I have submitted for
Art For Cancer
but...I want to do some totally Brand New
never before seen pieces
exclusive to Imagekind...in the next week or so...

then...I want to include ALL of my prints as part of the
Art for Cancer group
with 50% of all sales going to a couple different
cancer charities.
Right now...my charity is
'Cancer Funds of America'
to help cancer patients purchase necessities not usually
covered by insurance, medicaid and other
charities.

If you are in the 'market for some new art'
I recommend you visit
Imagekind and see all of the wonderful
art pieces available through the
Art for Cancer group!

Art for Cancer

ART for cancer on ImageKind

I have been part of Imagekind

for a while now...but only recently did I

run across the

Art for Cancer Group.

I'm still trying to figure out how it works...

but, in the meantime I have

placed this clickable banner in my blog

so that anyone who is interested

in helping to 'fight' this terrible disease

can get a lovely piece of art

while still supporting this cause.

The fight against cancer is a personal one for me..

I spent a year going from chemotherapy treatments..to radiation treatments..

to hospital tests, visits and surgeries...

from May 2005 to June 2006.

Only recently have I learned about new procedures

that are making strides in the treatment of certain cancers..in certain patients..

the treatments are terribly expensive...therefore

only available to a select few.

I know that money is always needed for cancer research...

in order to find these new treatments...

but..I also know...from personal experience...how costly some of these

procedures..medications..etc...can be..

and I hope to be able to donate portions of all of the sales

I make through 'Art for Cancer'

for those individuals who can't afford those

procedures..medications..etc..

to do what I can so these individuals have the same chance

at these new treatments,

as those in better financial circumstance.
